Serve Lead Flourish Essay
Not only do I follow St. Matthews school motto inside of school, but also out of school. I serve, lead, and flourish in many different ways. One way I serve is by helping many organizations. One organization that I've helped with recently was OPCC. I made dinner for about 30 women in a shelter and I was very surprised by this experience. I lead by being a great role model. I always haven't been a great role model though. I used to get in trouble for talking and trying to make my friends laugh, or get all the attention. I have changed that, and that can help show a path to some other kids like I was. I flourish by always following the character covenant. I try and use it with everything I do. I use responsibility, respect, empathy, fairness, caring, and trustworthiness. These are just a few things I do to show how important my school motto is to me.
Henry and I have made a car with our hummingbird. It would sense if there were anything in front of it and turn at a 90 degree angle. Then it would go foward again and restart the expression. Here is a video of our car in action. We used card board for the base of the car, and attached the board onto that. We had lights, a distance sensor, and 2 motors. Then we used chopsticks as the axes for the front wheels. We would have a longer cord from the computer next time, because it would not be long enough and make the car fall.
